Long Time, No Post: Oh. And Penguins.

Yes…I apologize my followers. *bows deeply* I had production week, and a project to finish so I pretty much abandoned my online life except for two of my role-plays. But now I’m back.

And I do not know what to say. Hmm. Lets see. Ah. Yes. Here we go. First…Well, I’m not entirely sure why penguins crop up so much on my blog, but there you go.

So. One of my good friends suggested “If you were outside and it started raining penguins, literally. What would you or people do?”

First I’d start screaming and wish I had watched Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds so I knew how to prepare. Then I’d run inside, lock the door, and decide that the penguins are indeed cursed. First depressing movies, then attacking me.

Cursed, certainly.

Two Awards

I’m popular, aren’t I? *fluffs hair*

Anyway, here are the awards. The Shine on Award and and The Seriously, What a Great Blog award both from Nevillegirl! *huggles Nevillegirl*

I’m really sorry I’ve been slow getting around to these. I’ve been busy, and when I’m not busy I’ve gotten in one of those moods were I just want to watch The Golden Girls.

But I’m getting back my energy. So. Here we are.

Thank you Nevillegirl! It means a lot.

What do your shoes look like?

Well, I’m wearing sock now, but the shoes I wore today are boots with little sliver buckles. Quite cute if I do say so myself.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve heard someone say lately?

I…lets see, where should I began…A lot of weird stuff has been said lately, but now I can’t think of any.

Hmm. Oh, yes. “We stalk because we care.” Don’t ask.

What’s the strangest thing you’ve said lately?

“Clark and Lewis could have been a sitcom.” I mean, seriously. Clark would have been bullied so much by mean reviewers on a writing site. Poor guy.

What is your current computer wallpaper?

Little and big squares.

What do you remember about your very first day of school?

I hated it. And the helper moms didn’t understand my allergies.

That may have just prompted me being homeschooled. I don’t really remember the first day of it…other than workbooks were bad.

Who is your favorite character – that you’ve created?

Edith Far. I adore her. She’s got black curly hair, a cool dress, and a really bad sense of how you should behave to someone who loves you.

What would your survival strategy be in the Hunger Games?

HIDE!

What song are you listening to right now?

How Great is our God, and this version is sung by Chris Tomlin.

What’s the scariest book you’ve ever read?

I’m not actually sure…but I was very scared of the BFG, or rather the giants that weren’t the BFG that were in the BFG. Ugh.

How is that a children’s book?

What’s behind you? (You can be literal or metaphorical.)

A lousy headache and my pillow. *managed to be both metaphorical and literal* *aren’t I something*

Receivers of My Heart. Well. Award.

Author: L.M. Augustine

Genre: YA romance

Release Date: April 2013

Designer: Allie Brennan (who is fantastic and brilliant and totally recommended by L.M.)

Blurb:

1,135,789. That’s how many subscribers sixteen-year-old West Ryder has on his web vlog series. But he only has eyes for one of them.

As one of the internet’s most prestigious video bloggers, West talks about high school relationships under the name “Sam Green.” As far as he knows, no one from school, not even his best friend, Cat, has seen his videos. But the highlight of the whole thing is Harper Knight, who comments every day at exactly 2:02 in the afternoon. He doesn’t know anything about her aside from the occasional deep philosophical messaging on why pizza tastes so delicious, but as stupid as it sounds, he might be falling for her. So when they finally agree to meet in real life, West’s hope for romance seems more and more in reach. But that all changes as soon as he arrives at their meeting spot and sees Cat walking toward him, wearing the same “I ❤ Sam Green” T-shirt Harper promised she’d have on.

To his alarm, West realizes he is falling in love with the best friend who has always been a sister to him.

TCWT Blog Chain: The Emporer’s Edge

So this month is self-published books month at the TCWT blog chain! For that, I read(or rather, am reading as I just download it yesterday. I am already more than halfway through. It’s that good) The Emperor’s Edge. It’s a steampunk book that’s absolutely amazing. Amarathe is our lead character, a proper(according to one member of the team. There’s quite an entertaining scene where four of her team members spend a conversation deciding what the right word for her is) enforcer. However when she learns of a conspiracy against the young emperor, she knows that she needs to do something about it and that just might mean enlisting the help of Sicarus, a famous assassin and a rag-tag team that she assembles.

I only found two typos so far, and those were only a case of two words not having a space between them. That may have just been the way my Dad’s kindle formated it though, or the way I read it. I know I often think that when reading, well critiquing, books people send to me on Microsoft Word.

It’s free to download, if you go to her website, and there are several more books in the series, and some more to be released as well.

I strongly recommend checking it out, even if you aren’t, like me, into reading e-books. I think there might be a way to read a paperback copy as well, though I’m sure that wouldn’t be free, but probably very reasonably priced. And when you’re caught up, check out the fan-forum. There’s even fanfiction!

A Shiny Gold Trophy…precious

My wonderful friend Jazzy has give me the the LIEBSTER AWARD. I have another award(the Shine On Blog Award) from the amazing Nevillegirl which I’ll get to soon too. And somewhere along the way I’ll get a regular blog post up. Maybe.

But. On with the award!

THE RULES:
  • List 11 random facts about myself
  • Answer 11 questions from the person who nominated me
  • Nominate 11 people for the award, along with 11 questions for them to answer
  • Pass it on to people that have fewer then 200 followers.
1. I got the Downton Abbey scripts yesterday. That makes me happy. Yay for going around the house pretending I’m Daisy, then Edith, then…
2. I like Fullmetal Alchemist Manga/Brotherhood Anime. Random little fact for you.
3. My first real novel, and my first Nano’s main character is a detective.
4. Shift is awesome. It tis a roleplay Jasmine and me are both in. You will hear me reference it.
5. I should be working on a project. But I’m roleplaying and posting here! BE GONE DISTRACTIONS!
6. I have allergies. But one of my friends has more allergies. One of my allergies is mustard. I can die if I eat peanuts. Am I impressing you with my tales of danger?
7.  I published a story on Figment recently. Go check out my Figment page. Yay for shameless self-advertising.
8. I’m braindead here.
9. Gertra is confusing to write when it comes to people flirting with her.
10. *SCRATCHES HEAD* LETS SEE. LETS TURN off caps. Good. Good. I like to chat with people in caps.
11. I’m revising. Revising is fun. *glazed look* Actually, it is kind of fun and I have not done enough to warrant a glazed look.
1. Who was the first character you ever wrote?
Oh my. Um. Annie, I think. She was a sunny little girl that lived in someplace resembling the Swiss Alps and was like a with-parents-and-sisters Heidi that wanted a dog. I want to go back and write her story just for kicks sometime.
2. Favorite weather to write to?
Sun actually. It inspires me. But then rain does too. It sort of depends on the season.
3. Most emotional scene ever written?
Hmm…probably the end of Crime Chasers. If we can include roleplays, then my characters reactions to various deaths.
4. Favorite character in your own stories (or top three if you can’t choose)?
Edith! Edith! Edith! But I really do love her. She started out in a roleplay and now another person and me are writing her and another character’s story.
I really love Edith.
Gertra is my other favorite. Her novel was my first actual novel, longer then 10k. And she’s awesome.
5. Favorite character in other fiction (or top three if you can’t choose)?
Holly Short. Because she’s snarky and kind and just generally awesome. An then we have Anne Shirley. Why? My blog is named after her town….
and then…Deryn from Leviathan. She’s amazing, and from one of the first steampunk books I read.
6. What are some things you’ve taken to saying you picked up from your friends? (Mine are “I kid” and “yep yep”. Guess who I got those from. XD )
I honestly don’t know. I don’t really think I’ve picked that much up. (Elyse? Maybe?)
7. Dream cast for one of your novels?

AnnaSophia Robb as Gertra

Picture made by my awesome friend, Elyse.

I don’t know for Jace and Maurice, the two supporting characters for Crime Chasers. I’ll have to do some research.

8. Pepsi or Coke?
Coke. I’ve never tried Pepsi. Perhaps I should sometime.
9. If you could play one musical instrument, what would it be?
The harp! I would love to be able to play that. I do play the violin however, and it is quite nice.
10. What’s the best thing you can cook?
Let’s see…I bake more then cook. Hmm. Well I make a pretty darn good grilled veggie sandwich.
11. Favorite girl name? Favorite boy name?
Francis and Vaudry. Francis can also be a boy name as well. I also love Anne.
WHO I GIVE THE AWARD TO
2. Ann.
I actually think some of these blogs might have 200 followers, but I have no way of knowing.

I Didn’t Finish My Post

It was dreadful of me to forget,” said Anne apologetically, “but that was the afternoon I was trying to think of a name for Violet Vale and it crowded other things out. Matthew was so good. He never scolded a bit. He put the tea down himself and said we could wait awhile as well as not. And I told him a lovely fairy story while we were waiting, so he didn’t find the time long at all. It was a beautiful fairy story, Marilla. I forgot the end of it, so I made up an end for it myself and Matthew said he couldn’t tell where the join came in.”

Yep. I completely forgot to give the tagged people some new questions in the award Orphu tagged me in.

I…really don’t know how I forgot it.

But, with out further ado, here they are!
